Liberty Mutual Medical Service Center had an industrial traumatic amputation rehabilitation program that provided excellent service for 75 years before closing in August 2000. As the former Clinical Chief of the Prosthetic Program and with over 30 years of service for Liberty Mutual, Michael Amrich is continuing to provide a "Center of Excellence" of prosthetic care for individuals throughout the United States. Over 90% of our prosthetic population lives outside of the Boston-Nashua area. At FDR, we are successfully managing our "Liberty Mutual Family" with the highest quality of care possible. FDR will participate as a member of your medical team to coordinate your rehabilitation process. Our long-range service is the way we have always provided care; we are successfully managing prosthetic patients of all amputation levels. We utilize a toll free number; 877-FDR-LIMB, UPS call tags for "door to door" prosthetic maintenance care and a commitment to quality and excellence.
Workers Compensation patients need to contact their Nurse Case Manager. He/She will set up your flight reservations through Corporate Travel, fax us your itinerary and medical information. We will then set up the hotel and ground transportation, directly billing for all approved services. A letter will be sent with confirmation numbers and important contact information.
If you have suffered a traumatic or acquired amputation, we will work with your nurse case manager and attending physician to coordinate a pre-prosthetic program and provide prosthetic care during your stay in Nashua. We will assist you in choosing an appropriate prosthetic design through a comprehensive diagnostic and preparatory program to prepare you for life with a prosthesis. Your stay in Nashua may be from 1 to 4 weeks depending on your needs. You may need to follow-up with physical therapy in your local area and have a return visit for a definitive prosthesis or adjustments. If necessary, we will see patients for follow-up in 6 months to a year or as needed. Michael has followed some patients for over 30 years, and with his father, a retired prosthetist, they have a combined total of 60 years of experience treating industrial traumatic amputations. At FDR, Michael will work with you and your medical team to coordinate your rehabilitation success. While you are here in Nashua, you will have some free time as the prosthetic process involves lab fabrication that you will not be needed for. Many of our patients will do some site seeing or enjoy some quiet time at the hotel with its pool, health club and free WIFI internet access. We will help make your stay as comfortable as possible.
We work with both you and your insurance company to arrange flight and hotel arrangements. You will fly into Manchester-Boston Regional Airport where a shuttle will meet and transport you to the Crowne Plaza. The same shuttle will transport you from the Crowne Plaza to your appointment at the FDR Center.
